Family: Help Bring Home Ellie’s Baby Sister from Taiwan

After a 13-year journey to become parents, Brian and Debbie Dunn adopted their amazing daughter Ellie from Taiwan. In October, they learned Ellie’s biological sister was now available to be adopted from Taiwan and the birthmother would like to keep the sisters together. Read their heartfelt letter below and see how you can help.

Dear TaiwaneseAmerican.org, we are the Dunns (Brian, Debbie and Ellie) from Georgetown, Texas. Our daughter Ellie is Taiwanese and became a part of our family in 2009 after many years of trying to become a family. She has been the most amazing blessing in our life and we could not imagine life without her.

This past October, we received a call that Ellie had a bio sister in Taiwan who was available to be adopted. Ellie’s birthmother wanted to keep the sisters together and wanted to know if we would like to adopt Ellie’s sister. We were not expecting this “surprise” adoption, but we’ve always known what our answer would be if we should ever receive a call like this. We do not know how we are going to do this, but we know that we have to do this for Ellie and our family.

We decided to move forward with adopting Ellie’s sister with the assistance from fundraising to help bring home Ellie’s bio sister. We know this is going to be a huge mountain that we have to move to make this happen, but with your prayers and God’s guidance, we know we can do this. We are so grateful and humbled by the outpouring of love, support and help with our decision to adopt Ellie’s sister.

Below are some of the fundraising that’s assisting us with this challenge to help bring home Ellie’s baby sister: We have AWESOME T-shirts, DELICIOUS coffee and a monetary Plumfund account to help bring home Ellie’s sister. Thank you so much for helping to move this mountain with us!!

We are so grateful and blessed with our newest daughter and we cannot see her not being a part of our family. Thank you for your help, prayers, encouraging words and being a part of something so great!

God bless you,

The Dunns (Brian, Debbie, Ellie and baby sister)
