About KIUKIU: “Hi! I’m John, founder of KiuKiu, a Taiwanese-inspired food brand bringing chewy, rice-based foods to everyday American pantries. I was born and raised in Taiwan, where many of my family were rice farmers, and where I fell in love with the bouncy “QQ” textures found in foods like mochi, boba, and rice cakes. About Leudles Doodles: “I started this shop as a way to share and celebrate the culture and communities that I love, as a queer and neurodivergent Taiwanese-American artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. My illustrations have been a way for me to heal and celebrate parts of my identity that I felt I had to mask in the past, and it’s allowed me to connect with those communities by helping others celebrate who they are too, through stickers, keychains, prints, and apparel. I made the difficult decision to leave my 9-5 tech job in early 2025 in order to focus on building my business (as an eldest daughter of immigrants, this was both terrifying and exciting!) and it has been such a joy, despite the challenges, to spend time creating and building community in a way that feels much more meaningful and rewarding than generating shareholder value. I love when I see someone’s face light up when they see themselves represented and celebrated in my art!”
