With recent large protests over questionable military practices, land expropriation, and controversial cross-strait services agreements, many have come to question the longevity of Taiwan’s democracy. Another question comes to mind is, “What bearing does this have on the US’s pivot to Asia?”

Come join Formosan Association for Public Affairs (FAPA) to hear from Julia Famularo, a Research Affiliate at the Project 2049 Institute and a fourth-year doctoral student in Modern East Asian Political History at Georgetown University, who’s lived extensively in the PRC, Tibet, and Taiwan. It’ll be sure to be a lively discussion.

Dinner will provided ($10, free for students).
