Presenting Topic Dinners. No hired experts, no lectures, just conversation over food. Some of us are more well-versed in issues than others, so the more we help each other, the stronger we become as a community. Let us know if there is a topic that interests you!
This month’s dinner topic:
Healthcare is one of the biggest issues of our generation. It is increasingly becoming a larger part of the economy and there have been tremendous opportunities driven by the digital revolution. On the flip side, healthcare has also become a divisive topic and the debate deeply divides the nation as lawmakers fight over Obamacare. Come join your fellow TAP members to discuss the latest facets and trends in Heatlcare.
Topics/questions:
1. From digitization of medical records to apps that record your health stats, what are the latest technologies in the industry? Why hasn’t progress moved faster?
2. Does our nation have one of the most advanced healthcare systems in the world? Or are we behind compared to Canada and Taiwan that have national healthcare?
3. Obamacare – Good or bad? What is the real impact? Will and/or should it get repealed?

This ia a great idea! Topic dinners, that is. I’m still living on the east coast for another year before coming home, so I hope you guys will continue to have these dinners next year.
Also, when we had these discussion gatherings in our department (I’m in a public policy grad program), the organizers sometimes included 3-4 articles so that we all had a starting point for intelligent discourse. Just a suggestion!
