About Taiwan
Just over one hundred miles from the mainland of Asia, perhaps no other country in the Asia Pacific has a more interesting role in the global geopolitical discussion than Taiwan. Taiwan is ranked by Washington D.C.-based Business Environment Risk Intelligence (BERI), as the 3rd best investment environment in the world. As one of the “Asian Tigers”, it has long enjoyed a reputation for business savvy and global trade. Taiwan is one of the United State’s top ten trading partners, and has made great efforts to promote environmental sustainability, including seeking participation in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
About Ambassador Liao
Daniel T.C. Liao has held many interesting posts in service to his country, including Ambassador to Tuvalu, a leading country in the battle against climate change, Section Cheif in the Department of African Affairs, and the Councilor and Charge d’affaires to the Commonwealth of Dominica. He most recently accepted his post as the Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston. Ambassador Liao is a graduate of Pacific State University and National Cheng Kung University.
