Taiwanese American Next Generation (TANG) is dedicated to the development of Taiwanese Americans from middle-school to young professionals. In 2003, TANG was formed under TACEC (Taiwanese American Conference – East Coast) to create a formal program for future Taiwanese American youth. TANG’s programs are centered around four themes: identity, community, growth, and family.

The mission of TANG is to guide the personal development of Taiwanese American identities in a safe, nurturing environment and to develop well-rounded, passionate leaders who will make an impact in a wide-range of communities.

This year, TANG will reunite with TACEC at the University of Delaware! Also, after a year’s hiatus, the TANG College and Young Professional (C/YP) programing is making a comeback. The goal of the C/YP Program has two levels: the individual and the community. On the individual level, TANG aims to help its participants by challenging not only their identities but life goals and values. There will be discussion groups to search for one’s Taiwanese American identity but also discussion of pertinent issues like future careers. By providing useful career and professional resources and connections to the new emerging generation, TANG hopes to strengthen the individual values and begin to explore our participant’s role and future in the Taiwanese American community.
