Join TAP in Austin for a Cooking Class
June 4, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Join Taiwanese American Professionals in Austin for a HANDS-ON COOKING CLASS. It’s part of their Night Market Fundraiser Cooking Class series. All proceeds will be going toward their first annual TAP-ATX Night Market this coming June.
In this 2 hour class, you’ll learn hands-on how to make basil fried chicken from scratch. Fried chicken (鹹酥雞) is “a dish in Taiwanese cuisine commonly found as street snack and is indispensable to the night markets in Taiwan. It consists of bite-sized pieces of chicken, coated and fried with flour and seasoning mixture.”
You’ll be chopping and cooking along with their instructor, Hanna Huang, at Sustainable Food Center’s teaching kitchen. They’ll be supplying all the ingredients.
After making basil fried chicken, you’ll be able to sit down, relax, and eat! The instructor will also prepare bubble milk tea for you to enjoy along with your fried chicken.
The class will be small and hands-on, so they will be limiting attendance to 15 people. Please purchase your ticket on Eventbrite to reserve your spot. Ticket sales end 7pm the night before the class. Tickets are $40 each and all proceeds will be going toward their first annual TAP-ATX Night Market this coming June.
