Are you interested in politics? Do you have Taiwanese friends? Ever wonder why they get so worked up when someone calls them Chinese?

Join Formosan Association for Public Affairs (FAPA) and the Taiwanese American Citizens League (TACL) political interns on Sunday, 8/5 for a workshop to learn about the people with the passion to advocate for such a tiny island, the topics that get them fired up, and the ins and outs of advocacy, all in one place!

You will find out what FAPA and the TACL political internship program stand for, some of the young people behind the scenes, and what their goals are. We’ll provide a brief overview of the historical relationships between Taiwan, China, and the United States before launching into current events and issues that impact Taiwan.

With any luck, these summaries will provide a good foundation for the presentations by TACL political interns, who will next present the lobbying projects they’ve done over the summer. We will wrap up the day with Q&A, group discussions, and exercises.

Come meet other people who care about Taiwan’s future! Please RSVP Daphne Lin at pihanist@gmail.com, so that we know you’re coming! This event is sponsored by FAPA and TACL PIP.
