Student. Daughter. Artist.
Hello! I am a middle school student at Orange County School of the Arts. I have two older siblings that are both currently in college. I have a rat dog named Isaki. My mom signs me up for a lot of random things, so in result, I know how to play 4 instruments, dance, draw, and be occupied. I like to listen to music, play games, watch anime in my free time. I may not have as many big achievements (yet) as some other people you see in this website, but I still hope to accomplish much.
How does being Taiwanese/Taiwanese American and/or community ally play a role in your life?
My mom knows a lot of the Taiwanese community and this allows us to have a lot of connections. For example, my mom found this accompanist for my cello test through her many Taiwanese friends. I am also surrounded by the Taiwanese community and a lot of people who seem to have shared the same experience as me.
If you could teach future generations 1 thing about being Taiwanese/Taiwanese American or Taiwan, what would it be?
Be proud of being Taiwanese and use being Taiwanese as an advantage. You have a unique voice because you are a minority. Use it!
What does the future of Taiwanese America look like to you?
It looks pretty good. There is actually a pretty decent amount of Taiwanese Americans here. It’s a good community to be in and I think that the future of Taiwanese America looks hopeful.
Favorite memory of Taiwan/Taiwanese America?
Getting my hair washed at those nice smelling salons.
Favorite Taiwanese food?
