National Taiwanese American Women’s Conference in San Diego

The 2015 North American Taiwanese Women’s Association (NATWA) Convention will be held at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley in San Diego from April 16-19, 2015. The conference theme is TELLING OUR HISTORY THROUGH PROSE, POETRY AND ART.

Founded by proud 1st generation Taiwanese American and Canadian women during the 80’s, the organization and conference now brings together the 1st through 3rd generation community of Taiwanese heritage. The collegiate and young professional program (NATWA II) takes place primarily April 17-19. Be sure to attend the workshops on Saturday, the conference-wide banquet & performances on Saturday night and the featured 2nd generation panel on Sunday morning. Social events and outings will be scheduled throughout the weekend.

The NATWA II Scholarship Application to attend the 2015 NATWA Conference is now open to first-time 2nd generation attendees. Please apply here to submit by Wednesday, March 25. Scholarship recipients will be notified by Friday, March 27, 2015.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of NATWA II. Additionally, NATWA II features a panel presentation entitled, SHOWCASING TEN YEARS OF NORTH AMERICAN TAIWANESE WOMEN ARTISTS, and brings together some of the most notable speakers from years past. Confirmed speakers include author Jennifer Chow, screenwriter Marilyn Fu, advocate/organizer Tsuann Kuo, filmmaker Karen Lin, and actor/filmmaker Victoria Linchong.
