I think that\u2019s a predominant Taiwanese trait\u2026<\/p>\n<p>She worked almost full time going within 2 years from Hostess at Duke\u2019s on Waikiki\u2026to cocktail waitress and marketing assistant while carrying a full load at the Univ. of Hawaii and still managing to volunteer one day a week at Ronald McDonald House\u2026 and she held the position of president of Golf Resort marketing Assc. in her senior year. All that paid off with an offer from Four Season\u2019s Hotel &#038; Resort to be in their management training program\u2026and now she\u2019s one of the youngest managers (at age 23)at Four Seasons &#8211; Kona ( one of the chain\u2019s busiest resorts).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tell us about how your daughter inspires you.<\/strong> <em>(\u59b3\u7684\u6bcd\u89aa\uff0f\u5973\u5152\u5982\u4f55\u6fc0\u52f5\u59b3?)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>That she actually took my advice\u2026 I read an article on Four Seasons Maui on the airplane (I\u2019m a Continental flight attendant\/n\u00e9e United) about how it is such a wonderful place to work and had the lowest turnover in the industry\u2026and gave her the article. Eureka\u2026it was meant to be!!<\/p>\n<p><strong>As time has gone on, how has your relationship with your daughter changed?<\/strong> <em>(\u96a8\u8457\u5e74\u6b72\u7684\u589e\u9577\uff0c\u59b3\u5011\u6bcd\u5973\u95dc\u4fc2\u6709\u600e\u9ebc\u6a23\u7684\u8b8a\u5316?)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I am slowly experiencing a mild role-reversal..I think that\u2019s inevitable in all cases\u2026 But hopefully with the Asian background ( 1\/2 in her case ) the reverence to the seniors will remain\u2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is one thing that you would like your daughter to know?<\/strong> <em>(\u6709\u90a3\u4ef6\u4e8b\u662f\u59b3\u5e0c\u671b\u8b93\u59b3\u7684\u6bcd\u89aa\uff0f\u5973\u5152\u77e5\u9053\u7684?)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>That I never realized that I was raising one of my best and closest friends\u2026and now I learn from her <3\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What did you learn from your mother about being Taiwanese?
