In this 2 hour cooking class, you’ll learn hands-on how to make oyster omelette from scratch with Taiwanese American Professionals – Austin (TAP-ATX). Oyster omelette (蚵仔煎), “a Taiwan night market favorite and has constantly been ranked by many foreigners as the top cuisine from Taiwan. The dish consists of an omelette with a filling primarily composed of small oysters.”
You’ll be chopping and cooking along with our instructor, Hanna Huang, at Sustainable Food Center’s teaching kitchen. We’ll be supplying all the ingredients.
After making oyster omelette, you’ll be able to sit down, relax, and eat! The instructor will also prepare wonton soup for you to enjoy along with your omelette. This is part of our Night Market Fundraiser Cooking Class series. All proceeds will be going toward our first annual TAP-ATX Night Market this coming June.
The class will be small and hands-on, so we will be limiting attendance to 15 people. Please purchase your ticket on Eventbrite to reserve your spot. Ticket sales end 7pm the night before the class. Tickets are $40 each and all proceeds will be going toward our first annual TAP-ATX Night Market this coming June. If you can’t make it to this class, make sure to come out to our 3rd class in June (see below)!
