Taiwanese Speech Competition in NorCal

The Chen-Yuan Lee Foundation (北加州李鎮源基金會) is hosting a Taiwanese speech competition in Northern California on February 2, 2014. This year’s awards include monetary prizes. This competition is held in order to promote Taiwan’s beautiful language and to encourage the use of Taiwanese in daily life.

Age Categories:
1. Grade School Children:
— Speech: Taiwanese speech on any topic; 3 minutes maximum
— Singing: Taiwanese singing
2. Middle School and High School Student:
— Taiwanese speech on any topic; 3 minutes maximum
3. Adult:
— Taiwanese speech on the topic of “My Childhood”; 3 minutes maximum

Competition guidelines:
Three judges will select the top three competitors for each age group.

Prizes for Grade School:
First Place: monetary award of $100 + award certificate
Second Place: monetary award of $50 + award certificate
Third Place: monetary award of $30 + award certificate

Prizes for Middle School and High School Student:
First Place:monetary award of $200 + award certificate
Second Place: monetary award of $100 + award certificate
Third Place: monetary award of $50 + award certificate

Prizes for Adult:
First Place:monetary award of $200 + award certificate
Second Place: monetary award of $100 + award certificate
Third Place: monetary award of $50 + award certificate
