College Admissions Workshop with TASA in Berkeley

Calling all high school upperclassmen! Berkeley’s TASA is excited to be collaborating with TACL-LYF and ITASA to bring you our second annual college admissions workshop. We cordially invite seniors and juniors currently in high school along with their parents to attend our upcoming workshop on Saturday October 19th at UC Berkeley. This workshop features keynote speaker Jonathan Chen, who will go over the college application process, as well as student panelists to address questions about majors, student life, time management, financial aid, and more.

Price: $10/student, 1st parent free, 2nd parent $5 (lunch will be provided)

Our keynote speaker Jonathan Chen has been a high school math tutor for over 8 years. He has tutored kids at all levels, ranging from remedial students to honor students. His students have gone on to schools such as UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Irivine, Brown and NYU. Currently, Jonathan works at LinkedIn and previously had worked at PayPal in various roles within Financial Risk Management. Jonathan’s alma maters include Univ. of CA, San Diego for his Undergraduate degree in Management Science and Santa Clara University for his Masters in Business Administration.

TASA (Taiwanese American Student Association at UC Berkeley) is a social and cultural student organization celebrating everything Taiwanese American. We welcome people from all cultural backgrounds as long as you are curious, passionate, or have a heart for Taiwanese culture. We hold weekly events involving yummy food, fun activities, and amazing people. We are more than just a club — we are family!

TACL-LYF (Taiwanese American Citizens League – Leading Youth Forward Camp) is a six day camp held every June in the Bay Area. For over 30 years, our camp has been empowering kids to become effective leaders in their communities. LYF’s mission is to foster awareness of Taiwanese American identity, culture and values while empowering the youth to become effective and proactive leaders in the community.

The Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Student Association (ITASA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting college students from across the country to the budding Taiwanese American community. Our goal is to build a national network of people passionate about Taiwan while educating and empowering the next generation of our nation’s leaders in the process. Every year, our organization works with over a hundred student organizations nationwide and plans events from coast to coast.
