Want to share with other students what lives, cultures, or food of Taiwanese Americans are about? Shoot some interesting things or people in the 626? Have great photos that tell the stories about activism or speaking out? Love photography? Want to be in part of a photo exhibition?
Then submit your photos! The UCLA Taiwanese American Social Change (TASC) Initiative is hosting the second annual Taiwanese American Heritage Week (TAHW) on campus. We will print and show selected pieces in Northern Lights from May 13-17 to celebrate TAHW and APAHM! As Taiwanese Americans, we share many similar values and desires with other communities and welcome photographs that explore common issues.
This year’s theme will be a reflection of the theme of ITASA 2013 West Coast Conference theme “CRESCENDO: Voices of Taiwanese America”.
There will be two categories of photos:
1. Lives of Taiwanese and/or Asian Americans
2. Stories of activism or speaking out (using your voice)
(can be related to current news)
There will be a total of 4 prizes, two for Judges’ Choice and Viewers’ Choice. Popular vote will begin Monday, May 6, 2013 after submission period ends when album is uploaded.
Criteria: Photo must be high quality resolution and original work.
