Ba-zhang (or zong-zi in Mandarin) is one of the most famous Chinese foods, traditionally eaten during the Dragon Boat Festival, but generally available year round in markets throughout Asia and around the world. It is a tetrahedron of sticky rice filled with pork, mushrooms, peanuts, and a wide range of savory ingredients, depending on the region or family recipe.

In celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival, Taiwanese American Professionals – DC (TAP-DC) is hosting a ba-zhang making dinner. We will show you how to fill and wrap your own ba-zhang and share some of the history and legend of the food. A Taiwanese dinner will also be provided, and guests will be able to bring home five of their own ba-zhang (mama would be so proud!).

If interested, please RSVP yes to the Facebook event page wall and send a $25.00 payment to our PayPal account (taiwaneseapdc@gmail.com). Space is limited to ten (10) people, so please respond early (a spot is only confirmed when payment is received via PayPal).
