Victoria Linchong, a Taiwanese-American actress, writer, producer, and director, will talk about her soon-to-be-released documentary Almost Home: Taiwan at MIT Media lab, E14-240 (https://whereis.mit.edu/?go=E14)
Almost Home: Taiwan takes viewers on a tour of Taiwan, as seen through the eyes of a handful of Taiwanese who have survived decades of social and political change. Weaving together the reunion of the filmmaker’s family after 22 years, archival footage, and on-the-street interviews in Taiwan and America, Almost Home: Taiwan shines a light on the history and culture of an island long at the center of political debate.
Victoria will share a rough cut from her work in progress (25 minutes), her filmmaking experience so far, and her future plans for the film.
