Frank H. Wu, Chancellor and Dean of U.C. Hastings College of the Law, will discuss Asian Americans and the Future of Civil Rights. The acclaimed author of Yellow: Race in America Beyond Black and White, Mr. Wu recently was named the most influential dean in legal education by National Jurist magazine. Born in the United States to parents who emigrated from Taiwan, Mr. Wu has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, the O’Reilly Factor, C-SPAN, and NPR discussing the changing face of our nation. Mr. Wu also blogs for the Huffington Post.

Mr. Wu’s talk will span subjects ranging from the Vincent Chin case and the Danny Chen case to immigration and diversity in higher education. Mr. Wu is a provocative and witty speaker who leads audiences in dialogue.

The event is free for anyone who’s interested. However, parking in the U.C. Hastings parking garage will cost $7 for 2 hours. Street parking is also available. If taking BART, exit at Civic Center Station, walk down Market St. one block and north on Hyde St. two blocks. U.C. Hasting is less than 5 minutes from the Civic Center BART Station. Please, out of respect for Dean Wu, show up in a timely manner.
