Interested in volunteering with kids? Want to spend a beautiful day outdoors at a park in South Bay?

Taiwanese American Professionals – San Francisco (TAP-SF) will be volunteering for a kids’ fishing clinic the first Saturday of October. The Santa Clara County Parks Dept hosts a very popular kid’s fishing program in partnership with the California Dept of Fish & Game, local Rotary Clubs, and the City of San Jose. The program offers a complete fishing clinic for kids age 5-15, taught by expert volunteers who teach the kids the basics of knots, casting, rigging, safety, ethics, and urban runoff. TAP will be assisting the expert volunteers at the teaching stations, and escorting groups through the various clinics and then the shoreline to begin fishing.

We will be teaching kids how to fish; no prior fishing experience needed! If you would like to sign up, please email Diny at diny.huang@tap-sf.org to be added to the volunteer list and for more details. Driving to the event is highly recommended, please contact Diny if you can drive or may need carpool arrangements. The park’s parking fee will be waved for volunteers. We will likely go to a restaurant nearby for lunch afterwards, location TBD.

Note: This event is limited as far as the number of attendees. Priority will be given to TAP members first so please become a member if you aren’t already. You can become a member by following online directions here: http://tap-sf.org/membership/. This event is FREE for both members and non-members.

Please email Diny Huang at diny.huang@tap-sf.org to confirm your attendance for this event. Responding via the Facebook event page only does NOT confirm your attendance.
