Autumn is upon us! Please join Taiwanese American Professionals – DC (TAP-DC) during the Columbus Day weekend as we travel to Shenandoah National Park to view and celebrate one of Mother Nature’s greatest miracles: Fall foliage!
Meeting time will be at 9:30 am, at two Metro station locations:
1) Grosvenor-Strathmore (Red line), for Maryland residents
2) Rosslyn (Blue/Orange line), for DC/NoVA residents
After a two+ hour drive, we will arrive at the Fisher’s Gap Overlook, and then proceed to hike the Rose River Loop Trail (about 4 miles), with plenty of maple trees, waterfalls, and streams for the photographer in you. Check out the map:
After our hike, we’ll head over to the Taproom at Big Meadows Lodge for a quick bite and drink!
We shall arrive back in DC around the 7 pm time frame.
Here’s a packing list:
-Protective clothing, dress in layers
-Plastic bags for waste
-A quart of water or two
-Flashlight (in case we go beyond sunset)
As always, stay tuned here for any changes to our plans in case of emergency, such as weather, car trouble, or any other “acts of God.”
