Earlier this year we interviewed Marilyn Fu, the Taiwanese American filmmaker behind a new project entitled THE SISTERHOOD OF NIGHT. This feature-length movie will star a Taiwanese American teen as one of its main characters. With over $130,000 dollars raised and a completed script, they are moving forward with casting and production! Although any teen of Asian descent may be cast in the role, wouldn’t it be great if an actual Taiwanese American teen was hired? Help get the word out and encourage even first-time actors to try out for the role.

CASTING CALL:
THE SISTERHOOD OF NIGHT is a feature film that puts a modern spin on the Salem Witch trials. It is based on a short story by a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and poised for production this fall in collaboration with the producer of Vanity Fair, The Darjeeling Limited and the producers of Meek’s Cutoff.

Character Breakdown:
CATHERINE HUANG – FEMALE LEAD – (13-16 years old). A Taiwanese-American teen girl who is quietly confident and expresses herself through fashion. She lives in a household of men with her father, grandfather and younger brother while her mom is in the hospital with cancer. Her absence makes Catherine resentful and cling tighter to her friends, even as she finds herself at the center of the school scandal. English is her first language; preferably understands Mandarin or Taiwanese but not necessary.
