Global Language Project (GLP) is an innovative educational movement that seeks to equip disadvantaged public-school students with the skills to compete in a globalized world and work force. GLP provides a free language training program that offers Mandarin Chinese to elementary school students in Harlem so that these kids can have an opportunity to achieve proficiency in a language other than English.
For this event, the Taiwanese American Professionals – New York (TAP-NY) will be introducing Chinese culture to the kids through Chinese calligraphy, yo-yo and dance. We are looking for volunteers who are proficient in Chinese and have some familiarity with the activities for this event or other arts and crafts.
