Underwoman and the Believers is the brainchild of writer/pianist Carolyn Chen, accompanied by Arnold Kim on viola and Tyler Sanders on bass. Their music has been described as mellow and reminiscent of melancholy merry-go-rounds. Carolyn started writing while at MIT, where she met Arny who played in the school’s symphony orchestra. Tyler played for the L-O-U Orchestra while at Ole Miss. Recently, these three have played at the Whisky A Go Go, Red Rock Coffee, and friends’ homes. Influences include film scores, J.S. Bach, and Sarah Polley movies.
