A SERIES OF EVENTS SEPTEMBER 10 – 18, 2011
BRINGING THE TRADITION AND INNOVATION OF TAIWANESE ARTS TO MADISON
2011 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of Taiwan, ROC. Taiwanese Arts Week brings this celebration to Madison and seeks more generally to promote intercultural understanding through artistic exchange and experience. Organized by UW-Madison Dance Prof. Jin-Wen Yu in collaboration with the Taipei Cultural Center/TECO in New York and numerous UW and local organizations, this series of exhibits, screenings, lectures, and performances will share the vitality of Taiwanese arts with the UW campus and Madison public.
Notable events include showings of Taiwanese films, performances by the Taiyuan Puppet Theatre Company, and “An Evening of Taiwanese Food” nightmarket (http://www.taiwanesenightmarket.com).
