Taiwanese dance troupes, music and food are just some of the many activities families will enjoy as the Houston Asian Jaycee Foundation hosts the city’s first Taiwan ROC 100 Festival, a centennial celebration honoring the establishment of the Republic of China (ROC). Located at the Stafford Center, the festival grounds will stretch across ten acres and feature a variety of authentic, multicultural fare from local restaurants, live entertainment, pop concerts, traditional martial arts demonstrations and more. Attendees will find a specialty play area for children of all ages filled with moonwalks, crafts and other fun activities. In addition, a showcase of local Taiwanese-owned businesses will be onsite during the festival.
Families may purchase pre-sale tickets on the festival’s website from July 1, 2011, to September 1, 2011, which includes a $2 credit for concession items. Limited free parking for the event will be available along Murphy and Cash Rd.
