Seen and Heard Conference 2011 Features Dawen

We’re fans of singer-songwriter Dawen here at TaiwaneseAmerican.org and happy to see that he’s performing back in the Midwest at one of the most active Asian American communities in the midwest! So, if you’re in the area, be sure to attend the conference and check him out!

Date: Friday, March 11-12, 2011
Location: Illini Union at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

The Asian Pacific American Coalition at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign presents the 2011 Asian Pacific American Seen & Heard Conference.

Our conference, themed, “Truly Together” aims at uniting the APA student community on campus through the discussion of past, present and future Asian American issues and movements both on campus and off.

The speakers and workshop facilitators have an extensive knowledge of AA issues and society and hope to educate you, the AA student population, about challenges they face and the issues in society that they encounter as Asian Americans.

With their knowledge, we hope that the students who do attend the conference leave with a sense of what it feels like and how to overcome being a minority in the real world.
