Join this Food For Thought event, “American Me: Pursuing a Music Career as an Asian American,” with singer-songwriter Dawen as he speaks about his musical career.

With what MTV Iggy calls, “an eclectically soulful style,” soul/r&b singer Dawen explores the gamut of American life, from identity to social issues, to love, loss and redemption. Fusing the grooves of funk and jazz, Dawen offers up a lyrical style that appeals to both the emotions and intellect. As a singer-songwriter, Dawen hopes his music will further the dialogue on racism and social injustice in American society.
