FAPA-YPG San Francisco / Bay area is inviting all Bay Area Taiwanese-Americans to join us for our first ever fireside chat on Taiwanese politics. If you’re a political novice (like most of us) consider this your opportunity to ask all those burning questions you’ve been dying to ask, questions such as “Is Taiwan even a country?” or “Why can’t we all just get along?” Our special guest will be Mr. Jason Lin, founder of the Taiwanese Students Association at University of Missouri-Kansas City and the current campaign manager for Dr. Ching-Te Lai, a candidate for the mayoral seat of Tainan Municipality. In addition, we will be joined by Dr. Bob Yang, current national president of the Formosan Association for Public Affairs. There will be a brief presentation by one of our guests about the current state of Taiwanese democracy, in addition to an open forum for questions and discussion.

Don’t worry about dinner, we’ve got it covered. But, please RSVP by 10/6/10 so we can make sure there’s plenty of food & drink. *Oh, and here might be a spontaneous bubble tea/dessert outing afterwards!
